AS to A2:
The AS media course complied of creating a 5 minute Radio News Bulletin on a specific region within the area. We were aimed to include a listing of many features within the radio show to try gain the most amount of marks. The features included the likes of interviews, outside broadcasts, vox-pops, etc. We started off with the preliminary task producing a 30 second audio radio news item of a topic of our own choice. It was a chance for us to gain a feel of what the complete topic and project will feel like in the near future and also allowed to act upon any mistakes made in the preliminary task into our main 5 minute Bulletin. Post preliminary task we acted upon our research into our main 5 minute audio project by researching using both primary and secondary methods to gain knowledge into news items which we later used in our bulletin. We wrote out scripts and carefully and precisely recorded them and later edited it using and including title music, sound effects, etc. We answered 7 evaluation questions once our show was finished to provide a round up of challenges we faced throughout the process and how we acted upon the project as a whole.
A2 tends to be completely different compared to AS. It seems similar in the sense that we are joined together within groups ensuring we 'create' and 'produce' a project as the core of our A2 media grade same as AS. However it tends to be more personal and interactive with the project requiring film in the format of a music video rather than just audio itself. It requires much more time and effort especially free time when filming as we would have to go to locations relatable to our music video and record there. However as the whole content of the project may have changed from just audio now to film the whole format has not changed drastically from AS as the whole concept is to provide and produce a project as the core of our media outcome grade. We base our research of the music video around the main production and also the evaluation questions we base upon results found from the complete production just like AS when we had to research about our news bulletin then create it and finally answer questions depending on results of the outcome of the production.
Representation:
Representation: 'the description or portrayal of someone or something in a particular way.'
Representation is a way in how somebody or something is portrayed. The opposite of representation is reference is still a way of how somebody or something is portrayed Real definition of representation is 'the description or portrayal of someone or something in a particular way.'
Henry Widdowson stated that it was a "Alternative reality in a parallel to the real world".
Media Language:
Media language is the way in which the meaning of a media text is conveyed to the audience.
My second attempt at Adobe Spark was much smoother and easier to create compared to my first. Firstly as I had already had practice with adobe spark and new how to work it due to the work of my first presentation and additionally the video produced wasn't a individual worked produce but I was paired up with Ryan so both our efforts were put into it. We both equally recorded our voices to evenly split the proportion and our combined efforts in the editing made it a lot easier compared to doing it individually.
Research Methods:
Qualitative Research:
Qualitative Research is primarily exploratory research. It is used to gain an understanding of underlying reasons, opinions, and motivations. It provides insights into the problem or helps to develop ideas or hypotheses for potential quantitative research. Qualitative Research is also used to uncover trends in thought and opinions, and dive deeper into the problem.

'the assembled spectators or listeners at a public event such as a play, film, concert, or meeting.'
There is a huge difference in having to understand them, term of audience in AS level and A2. With A2 being a short documentary in which our audience can visually see our production we need a more in depth understanding 0f the type of audience our production will be targeted at.
With regards to AS we focused primarily on demographics of people who we should focus our production on and who would want to consume it. the programme Match of the Day is at 11:30pm and shows the Premier League games from week. The target audience for people who consume Match of the Day are most likely football fans who are primarily male and middle aged and older (e.g. 38+).
However with regards to A2 we need to develop a further and deeper understanding into the word audience. One thing we must realise and express is that since the late 20th century audience has not been passive when consuming media. There is now an active audience with regards to consuming media. A passive audience is an audience that merely observes an event rather than actively responding it. The active audience theory argues that media audiences do not just receive information passively but actively become involved. This can be seen as evidence in video games, where you play the story yourself. The News where you report things yourself and even in film where people blog about their opinions of them. This has led to direct concern that the world of Television is dying thanks to the rise of the the World Wide Web.

Adobe Sparks:
Adobe Spark is a device which allows simple videos to be made using different images and videos. Free and designed for everyday communications, Adobe Spark is an integrated web and mobile solution for creating and sharing impactful visual stories. Its goal is to empower anyone, such as small businesses, social marketers and students, to create stunningly visual content that engages audiences across multiple channels and looks amazing on any device.
Solo:
I decided to produce a 42 second adobe spark video using a collection of images and videos which I gathered about my experience of going to see a band called 'The Stone Roses'.
Adobe spark is a device which gave myself a taster of what were looking at wanting to produce as our main topic. It could be considered as a very short and basic documentary which required visual images, audio and editing which will be included in our more in depth documentary produced later on in the year.
I started off by thinking of a topic which I could easily take images and videos of to produce into a Sparks presentation.
I then placed each image or video into chronological order and commentated over in order to make sense.
It was easy to produce as a solo as I had all the resources in order to put together. The only part in which could have been a struggle was actually getting used to the app with it being a recent app released I had to go through it to fully understand how to edit the images, add audio to each slide and finalising the produce and uploading it.
